Sydney Brown Owls Meeting #2 for 2010

image via
It was lovely to see some familiar faces last week and to see some nice new ones too!
The next Sydney meeting will be held next Tuesday - apologies for the short notice!
Date: Tuesday 2nd February
Time: 7pm - 10pm
Location: Berkelouw Books, 70 Norton St, Leichhardt. There is a new wine bar upstairs, so hopefully we can all fit. If we do pack the place out, then we can walk across the road to the Zoo Bar
Craft: Make your own Name Badge! Please ensure it's it's a "traveller" craft though as we may not have the large table available to use. Maybe you could use cross stitch, crochet or hand quilting. If you have already made a name badge, then please BYO craft.

**
RSVP: Please leave a comment on the blog if you plan to attend. Please also mention if you wish to bring a friend.

Not a member? Read this post - we'd love to have you xx

**For anyone who hasn't seen the Princes Bride

Launceston Owls 2010

Happy New Year All!
Hope your holidays have been full of adventure!

Our 2010 Brown Owls adventure is kicking off on Monday 8th February from 7.30pm at Seworld 88 Elizabeth Street.  The wondrous Nanna art of Embroidery is our theme for the evening.  Jenny and Cindy have very generously agreed to demonstrate a few stitches and Cindy will show us how she makes her gorgeous embroidered buttons. Please bring along some -

  • embroidery needles
  • embroidery floss
  • sewing thread
  • self-cover buttons (the plastic Hemline brand best, they are easy for beginners too but any kind is fine
  • fabric for embroidering, something with a close weave- calico, linen, not too thick or too flimsy
  •  an idea of what is to be embroidered on the button
  • scissors
  • pencil and paper
  • maybe some beads or sequins if so desired.
And lets do a mag swap! If anyone has any magazines, crafty or otherwise, that they want to trade bring them along.

Don't forget to RSVP by leaving a comment below.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
