Brown Owls Melbourne 3000, 8th June UPDATE – we’re nearly full!

edited to say: session now FULL, see below for details on joining the wait list etc. The 3 remaining places were taken by Monica, Jennifer Kate and Malene.

WOW WOW WOW - you're all amazing! Thanks so much for such a fabulous response to the inaugural meet of the Brown Owls Melbourne 3000 group. It is most heart warming indeed.

If you have already RSVP’d to the previous meet invite on this blog and your name appears in this list then you’re in – hoorah!

beka, ChloeR, Clara-Emily McKay, Courtney Davis, El Thomas, Fiona, freakingoutnow, Gen +1, Hannah, herman and ivy, Janet, Kate - F is for fabric, Kei, kittybaroque, Leni & Rose, Linda, omlair +1, rinny lincolne, sarah, SB, Shannon, shimmer and glow, Stacey I

There are now only 3 places left, yes just THREE. So, quick, hurry, RSVP! Please do NOT RSVP to this blog, this one right here that I am writing right right now. If you would like to RSVP please do so in the comments section over here. I think its fairer that there are no + 1’s for these last places (or + 2’s cos that would just swipe the lot).

If you miss out this time do not be too sad! I am in the process of negotiating a meet date for July, I’ll hopefully be able to announce the outcome of that at the 8th June meet and will post the details on this blog some time after that. Feel free to also add your name in the comments here should you like to be on the W/L (that's the wait list) should a place become available.

To all those that have been listed above and to those 3 people who get the last places available – please, please, please – if you are no longer able to attend this right popular event, please can you let me know asap (sue at craftinghealth dot com or use the link in that there column on the right), so I can re-allocate your prized place.

Ooo, and just one more thing, there is going to be a lot of us and the beautiful fancy pants Madame Brussels parlour space is therefore likely to be somewhat 'cosy', perfect for getting to know one another, but probably not the occasion to bring your hugely large / messy crafting projects..... just so you know.

Very looking forward to next Wednesday.

Fly By Night Brown Owls

Hi all!

These are some pics from the Fly By Night Brown Owls. Sorry they're a little dark, we were crafting in a dungeon in North Melbourne...

We had about 16 people turn up, 5 people were taught to crochet, 3 to granny square, there was knitting, sewing, crochet, jewellery and badge making, hot chips and beer. And amongst all that, we raised $33.40 for Alzheimer Australia. Thank you to all the lovely ladies who attended!

There were many requests to do Fly By Night again, so in about 6 weeks we'll hold another...

I've started a Fly By Night Brown Owls group on Facebook, you can join it to hear about the next meeting. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_215886898432836

Until next time, crafty peeps!

NEW! Brown Owls Melbourne 3000 group

Hi!

Announcing the inaugural meeting of the Brown Owls Melbourne 3000 group - hoorah!

when: Wednesday 8th June 2011
at: 6.30 - 9pm
where: The Parlour, Madame Brussels, level 3, 59-63 Bourke St, Melbourne 3000
why: because we love craft! yes we do!
bring: BYO craft project or notify me in the RSVP below if you need some ideas
cost: no fee for attendance but you may like to purchase a drink or a delight from the Madame Brussels menu
RSVP: essential! asap! indicate your want to attend by  submitting a comment to this blog entry, also indicate in that comment  if you do not have a BYO project to bring and would like suggestions

There will be no formal tutorial or anything on this, the first  (hopefully of many), Melbourne 3000 evenings. It will be a great chance  to get together, share some crafty-ness and discuss possibilities for  future meets, as well as have a jolly good time.

I thought it would be really nice to have a central venue handy for  public transport etc and as luck would have it I fortuitously came  across this venue last week. Madame Brussels is a loungey bar with a  fabulous special area - The Parlour. They also have cup cakes on the  menu which I think is a jolly good thing. Entrance is to the left of a  restaurant called the Spaghetti Tree and then use the lift (or stairs if  you fancy) up to level 3.

Looking forward to seeing you!
