Brisbane: Loom Weaving



Ever wanted to learn to weave on a loom? This meet up will go through the basics of loom weaving on cardboard so you can try before you buy your own loom or learn cost effective ways to make a loom of your own. Weave any shape and any size textile from teeny tiny brooches through to larger placemats.

When: Sunday 18 August, 10:30am-12:30pm

Where: Brisbane Square Library, 266 George Street, Brisbane CBD

What to bring:
1.    Yarn or a fibre of your choice depending on the size or style of weaving you would like to do, for example: wool, yarn, embroidery thread, string, ribbon, etc. you could even have a go with thin strips of fabric.
2.    A piece of cardboard the size you would like your weaving to be, or bring a large piece and cut to size
3.    Scissors
4.    Wool needle: the size will be determined by the yarn you bring to weave with
5.    Pencil
6.    Ruler
7.    Sticky tape
