Hope your holidays have been full of adventure!
Our 2010 Brown Owls adventure is kicking off on Monday 8th February from 7.30pm at Seworld 88 Elizabeth Street. The wondrous Nanna art of Embroidery is our theme for the evening. Jenny and Cindy have very generously agreed to demonstrate a few stitches and Cindy will show us how she makes her gorgeous embroidered buttons. Please bring along some -
- embroidery needles
- embroidery floss
- sewing thread
- self-cover buttons (the plastic Hemline brand best, they are easy for beginners too but any kind is fine
- fabric for embroidering, something with a close weave- calico, linen, not too thick or too flimsy
- an idea of what is to be embroidered on the button
- scissors
- pencil and paper
- maybe some beads or sequins if so desired.
And lets do a mag swap! If anyone has any magazines, crafty or otherwise, that they want to trade bring them along.
