Sunshine Coast Meet - March

March was a busy meeting. We had two activities lined up. Basket weaving and Easter egg decoration.

The meeting was held in the studio of A Little Creative.. Which is a lovely art studio, run by one of our members, in beautiful Golden Beach.

The basket weaving was a great success, and lots of fun, as seen in the photo's. Although one of our members nearly chopped her finger off after class (eek!), trying to complete her basket. (She is ok).

This meet was another full session, with 13 members turning up for some craft & laughter.

I will update with another quick post when the next meeting is advised. Enjoy our photos!

Brunswick Brown Owls celebrate EASTER

Brunswick Brown Owls celebrate EASTER! We will celebrate with craft of all kinds. What will you bring? Have you got an Easter project to share and show?

Come and join us, this Wednesday 27th March at 7pm at the Sporting Club, Weston St, Brunswick, Victoria for a festive gathering of Easter craftiness. Put it into your diary, or your digital calendar thingy. We meet every fortnight. Set an alarm! It's fun to be organised!

We have a gorgeous little Brunswick Brown Owl Easter Pinterest page you can add projects to if you’ve got some great ideas, or if you found some on the crafty interwebs.

Please bring your own project and carry on with that, there will be lots happening in the fine Ladies Lounge. We’d love to organize dates for our crafty calendar together.

Come and say HIDEE HI to the Brunswick Brown Owls! If you can’t make it, we’ll pop up photos of the evening on our Brunswick Brown Owls Facebook page so you can join in the fun too.  We have OVER 160 members, and you can be a part of our crafty community too! Come along and learn some new skills with us! No need to RSVP. No probs if you're early or late. No dress code either!

The Sporting Club still has delicious tapas and cocktails. Tasty.

MITCHAM BROWN OWLS

Our logo, designed and drawn by Jo Schofield.

Hi There Owlies!

Our next meeting is this coming Saturday, and we have a workshop!
This beautiful necklace is made from a magazine, cut into fine strips and wound up.
This is a vintage craft which started during the depression, and then had a retro resurgence  during the second world war  when no one could buy jewellery.
You can now buy these pretty beads overseas.
The loose beads above were made by me.
For any one who would like to learn, we will have tuition available.

Bring along anything you've finished to show off to everyone.
I'll look forward to seeing you.

KInd regards,

Lianne.

Brisbane: Crochet Basics

Crochet on a train

Learn everything you need to know to crochet like a pro!

We'll cover chain stitch, single and double crochet/treble as well as some basic crochet definitions to keep you on track when you go home. If you already know your stitches but would like to learn to crochet in the round or make a granny square come along and we'll get you started!

By the end of this two hour session you'll be well on your way to hooking up a wash cloth and/or a pretty flower. This is a great session for beginners to get a handle on all the basics before tackling some of the slightly more advanced crochet meet ups later in the year.

And if crochet isn't your thing bring along your own craft and enjoy a beautiful morning at Mt Coot-tha. Or if crochet is your thing experience the joy of giving by passing your hooking expertise on to a beginner :)
