Brisbane: Folk stitching on felt

Gather up your felt scraps and embroidery thread and let's put them to sweet use! I first came across folk stitching on felt a long time ago in Hungary and have always wanted to give it a go. The design possibilties and things to make are endless.

Make ornaments, hair clips, brooches, bookmarks, applique designs, garlands, anything! The end result is only limited by your imagination.

Sunday 8 March, 10:30am-12:30pm
Brisbane Square Library, George Street, Brisbane CBD

Free but bring your own materials - a materials list will be provided when you RSVP! Also have a think about the design you might like to do, there are lots of gorgeous vintage folk patterns online or make up your own. Design ideas will also be available on the day.

Bookings essential by emailing brisbanebrownowls@gmail.com

Brisbane: Dates for 2015

About Brisbane Brown Owls

Brisbane Brown Owls meet once or twice a month in various locations throughout Brisbane. At each meet up we either learn a new craft or you can bring along your own craft to do. It's all about sharing crafty knowledge and skills, meeting crafty people and having a cuppa. Brisbane Brown Owls is run on a volunteer basis by Rebecca.

How much is it?
Brisbane Brown Owls is usually free or very low cost unless there is a special crafting project, guest facilitator or venue hire fee.

How do I join?
Joining Brisbane Brown Owls is easy, just sign up for the email list here http://eepurl.com/tTVZv. You can also check out our Facebook page www.facebook.com/brisbanebrownowls.

Meeting dates for 2015 below and more coming soon!
You can RSVP now for any of the meet ups in 2015 by emailing brisbanebrownowls@gmail.com. There will be a blog post before each meet up with further details. Dates are subject to change and we'll be adding more meet ups as the months go on so check back on this post regularly or join the email list for updates here http://eepurl.com/tTVZv.
HOST YOUR OWN Brisbane Brown Owls!
There's only so many hours in a day or weekends available in my little life so if you would like to ease the Brown Owls workload and give back by hosting a meet up in your own area I would love to hear from you!
There's no need to do any organising, promotion or bookings for a meet up you just need to turn up on the day to represent Brown Owls, it's that easy! And you don't need to teach a new craft either, we all need lots of time to finish off our projects and to just take time out and relax with like-minded crafty souls. Email brisbanebrownowls@gmail.com to chat further.

KYNETON BROWN OWLS- Getting their craft on in 2015! YES!

Image from NGV Romance Was Born show- SEE IT NOW!
Hello precious poppets! How was your summer? I hope it was full of water balloons and lazy seaside times. And watermelon. Pineapple. Rambutan. Lots of on-trend tropical fruits really.

Well we've had a lovely break over at the
KYNETON Brown Owls

BUT WE'RE BACK FOR 2015!

We're slightly delayed as I've been moving house, and with two small kidlets, it's no easy feat!
But you'll be raring to go -as my Mother would say- and get your craft on, and hopefully finish some of those projects you've been storing for too long (oh, is that just me? Oops!).

The delightful Kyneton Brown Owls will be meeting every
Thursday fortnight from 19th February at 7pm
at the Royal George Hotel, 24 Piper St, Kyneton.

Our happy hosts at the George have a new chef and delectable treats to eat,
so come and say hello and have a bite to eat!
Thursday night is LOCALZ NIGHT and meals are only $15! ShaZAM!

Pop it into your diary to avoid terrible forgetfulness and double-booking type incidents! Oops!

I hope to organise more learning sessions this year, but if you have any amaze-balls ideas, or hope to teach us some skills, or need any more info, please drop us a line on the email to Stacy here:

smockpockets@gmail.com

You can also join our friendly and helpful
Kyenton Brown Owl Facebook Group for extra online goodness.

We're a lovely bunch of coconuts and friendly to boot,
so bring a friend and a WIP and craft with us in Kyneton!

Hi There Owlies,

Here we are at the start of a New Year of crafting and I hope you are all ready to come along and create.

Speaking of "create", this year is a fairly hectic year, and we may not always be able to meet on the fourth Saturday of the month.  For instance, our first meeting for the year, this month will be held on Saturday the 14th of February.  I will let you know each month when the next meeting will be.

Our first meeting will be a look at what projects  we would like to try during the year - if you have any ideas, please bring them along.  Bring along any projects that you are currently working on to do in class, and of course, there will also be learn to knit and learn to crochet support available.

I'll look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

Kind regards,

Lianne.
