Bayside Brown Owls - Frankston, Victoria

If you live on Melbourne’s Peninsula there is a Bayside Brown Owls group that meet every three weeks on a Monday night from 7:30-10PM. Bayside Brown Owls meet in the Frankston area at Baxter to give local crafters an opportunity to bring along a project from home and relax together!

It’s all about having fun and hanging out with like-minded people who love everything crafty! All levels of crafters are welcome, even if you’ve never done anything crafty come along and have a go! There’s sure to be someone who can help, encourage or inspire you! Sew, crochet, knit, scrapbook… whatever you enjoy simply BYO crafty project! Tea & coffee provided . We can seat 25 so the first 25 RSVPs are in.

• We can also drink wine, if you'd like to bring some to share, just so that you know. There will be tea and coffee on offer as usual, though.

As you can see, its off MOOR Street. Don't come to the front door on Napier Street - come to the back door on WOOD STREET
Time :: 7pm until 9.15pm (we'll start to pack/wash-up at 9pm)
Date :: Monday 1st June
Bring :: Your craft project and $2 for tea/coffee - bring $4 if you'd rather do embroidery

Melbourne - Last Night's Brown Owls

Last night the Brown Owls met at the Fitzroy Library meeting room. Lucy, author of The Design Files and Angela, curator of Three Buttons spoke to our Owls about the many facets of blogging, balancing a creative life with a (sometimes creative) day job, favourite blogs, motivation, magazines, copying, inspiration, lurkers, photography, criticism, comments, layout and lots more.

It was really, really great to have a forum to talk about such bloggy stuff with people that 'got it'. I think this would be a great event to run in other states too - let me know if you need help rallying speakers, gals!

I taped the whole discussion on my trusty dictaphone - so I'll be writing up a proper overview later on. In the mean time - girls who came last night - be sure to pop your blog address and your view on the night in the comments section!

Rock Out With Your Gocc Out!

Some shots from last night's fantastic and fun Gocco demo night! Hosted by Gemma Jones and myself! A pack of Brown Owls braved the crazy weather (again!), making a bee-line for the Balwyn Community House ceramics studio where we printed the night away and marvelled at the amazing Print Gocco system! Everyone had a turn at using the Gocco and took home a little bundle of prints - which I think was ace!

Thanks to Kirsty for booking the venue for us! The next Gocco meet will be on RSVP very soon - please check in here often so you don't miss out!

Brrrrrr-own Owls.... (teeth chattering)

Oh YES!

A group of brave and lovely owls DID brave the Camberwell Market this morning! We caught up for coffee and muffins first (nutty raisin toast for some!) - and then did a couple of laps of the market en masse before we split up for some final solo marketing.

I picked up some yarn in many, many colours and some really cute old colouring books. I DO wonder what the other girls took home after they left the main group!

Thanks to the ace gals that came - I think we'll do that regularly, because it was really nice. Perhaps you might like to come next time and meet some of the other Owls? We'll look after you, really we will!
