KYNETON BROWN OWLS- Getting their craft on in 2015! YES!

Image from NGV Romance Was Born show- SEE IT NOW!
Hello precious poppets! How was your summer? I hope it was full of water balloons and lazy seaside times. And watermelon. Pineapple. Rambutan. Lots of on-trend tropical fruits really.

Well we've had a lovely break over at the
KYNETON Brown Owls

BUT WE'RE BACK FOR 2015!

We're slightly delayed as I've been moving house, and with two small kidlets, it's no easy feat!
But you'll be raring to go -as my Mother would say- and get your craft on, and hopefully finish some of those projects you've been storing for too long (oh, is that just me? Oops!).

The delightful Kyneton Brown Owls will be meeting every
Thursday fortnight from 19th February at 7pm
at the Royal George Hotel, 24 Piper St, Kyneton.

Our happy hosts at the George have a new chef and delectable treats to eat,
so come and say hello and have a bite to eat!
Thursday night is LOCALZ NIGHT and meals are only $15! ShaZAM!

Pop it into your diary to avoid terrible forgetfulness and double-booking type incidents! Oops!

I hope to organise more learning sessions this year, but if you have any amaze-balls ideas, or hope to teach us some skills, or need any more info, please drop us a line on the email to Stacy here:

smockpockets@gmail.com

You can also join our friendly and helpful
Kyenton Brown Owl Facebook Group for extra online goodness.

We're a lovely bunch of coconuts and friendly to boot,
so bring a friend and a WIP and craft with us in Kyneton!

I'll look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

Southside Owls ~ Thursday 13th November @ Frankie & Swiss ~ Mirabel Softies

Southside Owls is on this Thursday! Join us for a very good cause – Softies for Mirabel!

Pip from Meet Me at Mikes has been running Softies for Mirabel for 8 years now – head over to Mikes for more information about this great cause.
Mirabel Foundation does important work, supporting kids who are affected by parental substance abuse. They also support family members who might be caring for those kids.
Did you know that lots of kids move from the care of their parents to grandparents or aunties and uncles? Mirabel provides support to these children and their extended family, making sure that they all know how special they are, and that they are not alone.
Each year we run Softies For Mirabel with The Mirabel Foundation. We encourage you to make a soft toy (a softie!) for a Mirabel child. We think that it's really important to show these kids that they are in our thoughts and that we care about them. A handmade buddy can be a loyal companion to a child who may have the weight of the world on their shoulders at times.”

Brisbane: Upcycled Aluminium Cards

At Brown Owls we love upcycling so we're very excited to have Felicity from Bearly There Creations back this year to show us how to upcycle aluminium cans into fun and interesting Christmas cards and decorations!

Felicity will show how to cut down cans safely, create your own designs by hand embossing and a little cheating by using commercial embossing plates to make decorations. Each participant should leave with at least 1 card and 1 decoration, or more, as it is highly addictive.

If time allows Felicity will demonstrate colouring methods as well, using alcohol inks and pens.

When: Sunday 9 November, 10:30am-12:30pm
Where: Brisbane Square Library, Brisbane CBD
What to bring:
- Aluminium cans, they come  in interesting colours and shapes these days, bring some favourites along to play with!
- Old scissors (not your good dressmaking or fabric ones)
- An old ball point pen for embossing
Cost: $5
RSVP: is absolutely essential by emailing brisbanebrownowls@gmail.com
