Sydney Brown Owls March Meeting

Hello,

A small reblog with a few minor edits...

For those crafty peeps in Sydney that may not know, we have a very lively Brown Owls group that runs in the inner city/inner West/Eastern suburbs.

Although quiet on the blog front, we post a lot of stuff on our Facebook group, such as news, events, and info about general craftiness in Sydney.

 


This month, we're meeting on Thursday March 20th 6-9PM at The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen in Sydney. Be sure to RSVP to the Facebook event, so I know vague numbers for booking purposes. We'll be sitting near the above mentioned dog pics...

After a bit of discussion and emails, we're having a coffee and a yarn for this month's meeting.

We (usually) meet on the 20th of each month where we craft, chat, have a cheeky wine and a laugh. This month's meeting was at Cockatoo Island where we had an amazing crafty cocktail session. Go here and here to see a write-up of the meeting!

Alternately, there is also a Sutherland and St George Brown Owls for those that live in the South. Check out the lovely Thouraya's details in the sidebar if you would like to attend their meetings.

What to Bring: Bring any craft you'd like to work on.

What to Bring- Travel craft of your choice (knitting, crochet, hand sewing, paper crafts, beading etc)

Details - the Wine Bar serves delicious light meals and deserts and has a lovely selection of drinks - wines, coffee and teas.

Brown Owls Sydney - Yarn in the Pub

So it's easy to remember, Brown Owls Sydney are meeting on the 20th of each month. It also works well because those that can't make it on a certain night will be able to come to a meeting at some point! This month's meeting is on a Friday.

We thought because it's Friday we'd have a bit of a 'Yarn in the Pub' night. So you can have some drinks and nibbles and chat to old friends or make new Brown Owl friends! Feel free to bring craft or if you just feel like a drink and something to eat, that is fine too!

Brown Owls Sydney meeting

Last night was our first Sydney Brown Owls for a while. We met up at the lovely Berkelouw Wine Bar and had a great time eating, crafting and catching up.

The food was really yummy with a range of pizzas, bruschetta, tapas and desserts...we also had a few cheeky glasses of wine (^_^)

Corey was lace knitting a beautiful pair of socks.

Jenny was diligently working on a baby blanket.

A bit of a friendly dahlia crocheting competition between Amy and Bec.

Amy was very pleased with her finished dahlia.

We had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone next month! We will be having a meeting on the 20th of each month. Next month's meeting details will be posted here, as well as on the Brown Owls Sydney Facebook page and through The Brown Owls Twitter.

Sydney Inner West Craft Meet Up

If anyone in Sydney's Inner West is interested in starting a craft group, I live in Dulwich Hill (near Newtown and Marrickville) and would love to regularly host a meet up in my wee terrace. Monday and Tuesday nights both work very well for me at the moment. Brown Owls Sydney has a get together coming up... It is a super casual meet up where you can bring any craft that you are currently working on and come and chat and be crafty with a bunch of like-minded peeps!
