Time: 9am-2pm (see below for specific program times)

Venue: BrisStyle indie Eco Market, St Augustine's Church Hall and Grounds, Racecourse Road, Hamilton.

PROGRAM:

9-11am :: Crochet Circle with Kate Allan

Join Kate Allan of dash robin in a crochet circle. She will demonstrate some simple crochet techniques and show how to make a flower for a hair clip, brooch or decoration.
"I have been creating distinctive eco friendly crochet accessories for over five years and have taught crochet for community festivals and events across Brisbane including Saviours of the lost arts and Close knit. I am branching out into dyeing my own yarns using local plant based materials and non-toxic dyes to create environmentally friendly uniquely coloured wools. As well as joining the crochet circle l'll be debuting a small range of hand dyed merino/angora/mohair yarns for the first time at the BIECO!"
Kate will be available throughout the full day for those who would like to continue their crochet into the afternoon.

11am-2pm :: Knitting installation 'Landscapes of Resilience' with Chrys Zantis

Brisbane artist Chrys Zantis will grace our Brown Owls meet up with her famous interactive Knitting installation, Landscape of Resilience. Chrys will bring needles and hooks, threads, fabric and wool of all colours. Join in any time between 11am-2pm  and knit and sew with Chrys and reflect on your inner resilience.

There's loads of other crafty workshops and activities happening on the day, you can check out all the details here and on the BrisStyle blog.

Feel free to also BYO craft and pop in for a natter. We'll have our usual Brown Owls stash of extra yarn, fabric, thread, hooks and hoops available on the day and Sam and Rebecca will be around to answer any crafty questions or help with your current crafty project.

Tea and coffee can be purchased on the day from the local cafes on Racecourse Road. Feel free to show off your baking skills by bringing a plate for morning or afternoon tea :)
